DMCA for fragNet - what next?

@everyone

# fragNet will be discontinued on the 22nd of March 2026. #

Due to an unexpected contract void, we are no longer **legally** permitted to use our fork of the ClassicCouner GC, known as fragNet.
Unfortunately, on Sunday we will have to bid our coordinator farewell.
Beginning 22/03/26, at 19:45 GMT+00:00, fragNet servers will be shut down, and will **no longer respond** to legacy clients.
Attempting to launch fragNet** v1.00-v1.38 **exectutables will result in a game freeze, and in-game actions will no longer function.
This does not affect your ability to play on our PUG servers.

We have been given a grace period to obey the DMCA complaint of 6 days.
In this time, I’ll be rushing to create a new coordinator from the ground up.
Thankfully, this will be plausible as we have been permitted to keep the;
> GC Client Code, minus certain unused headers
> The protobufs – the meat, the messages the game uses.
Therefore, we should be getting our new coordinator, up with basic features including;
> Sign-in/Hello
> Inventory View
> Item Equip
> Sticker Application
> Item Renaming
> Case Opening (incl. Capsules)
> Operation Testing in beta
up by Saturday, 21st March 2026.

The following features you’ve become used to on the legacy coordinator;
> Watch Tab (Viewing recent PUGs)
> Commending
> Rank View
> Sticker Scraping
> Reporting
will become functional again thru tumbleweed updates following the next week.

With this new coordinator comes new opportunities.
Since I know I’m writing it from the ground up, I’ll probably FOSS the repo as soon as I complete the basic features.
Ollum’s stuff was a mess... and whoever did the networking, was propping it up for failure.
The new coordinator will not be using Steam Networking.
Instead, there will be direct connections to the Coordinator via TCP.
It will be **far** more stable, and it will be the key to earn contributor status.

I’m running out of space, that’s pretty much the gist of it.
frytt’s out, peace.
